Oh, I am so pleased with how this turned out! The pop up style is utterly perfect, I should have known that a flat illustration wouldn't be enough to capture the energy of these two. Now, I just need to find the right frame to finish this piece off, and consider whether I can bear to parted with it 😊

This was a refreshing change, just for fun rather than a direction commission. It was inspired by an awesome photo a friend posted of her daughter leaping through the air. I do appreciate the freedom of just painting simply from inspiration and because an idea won't leave me alone. It balances out the commission work, which I love equally, but for other reasons.
